With the amount of rain we have been getting, and your irrigation that is scheduled to come on, cut back on the irrigation and monitor your lawn when it gets fertilizer. over watering the lawn with a fertilizer application will cause a run off and the chemicals from the fertilizer will be ingested to the fish and wildlife and could kill them.
Never fertilize before a major rain fall. when the application is applied, water in with the irrigation for about 10-15 minutes (a quarter inch of water) only no more.

Over watering
Good day all.
excessive watering on top of normal rain showers, like the ones we are having here in Florida, will cause Fungus and Sod Web worm damage to your St. Augustine grass.
Sod web worms will eat the leafs for the St. Augustine and cause it to lay down and look like there is a major issue to the grass.
First, during the summer, cut back time on the irrigation to around 20 minutes. per zone. keep a close eye on your grass to see if it starts to turn yellow. Yellow in a indication that fungus is starting to form. If you see this, call a Certified Lawn Pest control company to assist you with your issues.
